Hi, I just want to let you know that I was thrilled to receive my new Salsa Woodsmoke today - it was expertly packaged and arrived in perfect shape. Additionally, I ordered a dropper post along with the bike. Without me even asking, the assembly team installed and set up the new post - what a great surprise! I expected to be watching youtube tutorials and figuring out this install myself. Finally, I appreciated that my assembler listed the date of assembly as "Juneteenth, 2021". Respect. Hi and good morning. The parts I ordered arrived yesterday. The items were packaged correctly in a proper box. There was packing material in the box so the parts didn't move around. Box was taped nicely and labeled well. Wow, great to see the attention to detail! Thought I would point this out to you as one is usually advised about mishaps.....A box from [...] is typically incorrect-wrong size, no packing, not closed correctly. Great to get a proper shipment. I just wanted to say that I love the Universal Cycles way of doing business. First, being able to see available inventory takes all of the guess work out of shopping. Secondly, the online notifications for order confirmations, when to expect a shipping statement, and then shipping confirmation are very reassuring and add to the overall experience. Hey Universal Cycles! I wanted to convey a great experience I had on the phone the other day with Mike[...]. I called to get some clarification on an order and some recommendations on some parts I needed to continue a build. Mike was awesome! I connected the fact that we actually did a ride together many, many years ago! It was geat to hear his voice again, as I think we used to talk over the phone a bit when I was a wheel builder and we talked about orders from Perfect Wheels, where I worked. He gave me all the part numbers I needed to complete the next phase of my Surly Wednesday build for my son. I received the parts today, and everything was spot on!! Went together like soft butter on bread!! It was great hearing from Mike again, and it was just another great experiences I have had with Universal Cycles! Takce care guys and gals!

I just want to thank you guys and particularly Dustin with his help today at the Portland store. I have ran parts counters, and have ran a successful business for the last 36 years and I know what quality customer service is all about. I have recently got back into cycling to help keep on shape for motocross and have been away for nearly 30 years from mountain bikes. I was very impressed at the friendly service I encountered today. I have been to other bike shops in the Portland/Vancouver area and have come away from ALL of them really upset. The arrogance and “know it all attitude” won’t fly with me. I was a little apprehensive walking in the door at your shop today due to the horrid customer service I have had at three local shops. Dustin was AWESOME! He was informative, he didn’t try to sell me anything more than I really needed and I left your store excited to return. ( I bought better stuff than he suggested just because he was a straight shooter). Thanks again and look forward to shopping here for everything our family needs for our bikes.

Buying from Universal Cycles is always such a joy. Call them and a human will answer who seems to know everything about virtually any kind of bike. I used their wheelbuilder tool ten years ago, and I still get stopped on the streets of NYC all the time by people asking me where I bought my DT Swiss/Phil Wood track wheel. When I wanted to convert that wheel to tubeless, once again, they knew exactly what I should do. The shipping is often much faster than advertised. The discounts can be insane. Unlike [...] other sites that chase trends and fill their product pages with slick, useless, used-car-salesman copy, Universal sells everything old-and-new, and sticks to providing basic product data. Sometimes I worry a day will come when I can't upgrade or replace parts on my fixie and 29er singlespeeds- nope, Universal has what I need every time. The way for many retailers to compete with Amazon is undoubtedly to take notes from Universal Cycles.
