this is the best aluminium seatpost, fix firmly the saddle and have a goood size (400mm) for sloping mountain frames

Pros: a product that will last for years

One of the strongest, lightest and best looking seat posts out there. I wouldn't use anything but the thomson elite.

Best post made.

Not much to say other than this is the only way to go for a seat post. Kind of the King headset of posts. Lots of sizes available too. No issues at all, holds my 220 pounds just fine at full extension.

Cons: None, well, colors would be nice

If you need a zero-setback post, no other will do.

Thomson products define value in the component market.

Pros: Beyond durable, well-finished, precise adjustment, can buy replacement hardware!

Cons: Not fashionable.

Secure, non-slip rail clamping. Rivals carbon posts for light weight & at a reasonable price. No need for $200 posts!

Thomson Quality is amazing

This post single handedly made me wish I had a CNC machine in my garage.

The benchmark for seatposts

You know you are going to get a trouble free seatpost if you go with one of these.

Pros: Nicely machined, light, strong, clamps grip saddle well, no noise.
What more could you want?

Great post

Fit and finsh are top notch, sizes to fit any bike

Pros: Works great, microfinish help stop seatpost slippage

Cons: Knowing there it is a better (masterpiece) psot available, albeit more $$

Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right

Are there cheaper seatposts out there? Absolutely.
Are there lighter seatposts out there?
Yeah.
Are there flashier seatposts out there?
Crabonmuch?
Are there stronger seatposts out there? Wouldn't be suprised.

But is there any seatpost out there that balances the cost/weight/strength/swank equation as well as the Thomson Elite? Not in my opinion. I have this seatpost on four of my bikes, mtn and road. Easy to set up and nary a peep once you get things dialed in.

Pros: -Appearance: Subtle from distance, gorgeous details up close
-Ridiculously good build quality
-Never busted one since I bought my first in 2001
-Easy to adjust and fine tune
-Unique and re-usable packaging (a smooth burlap-like cinch-sack easily reusable to store tools and such)

Cons: Could be less expensive, but the quality is worth it

Bullet Proof

Thompson Seatposts are simply flawless. I have them on all my bikes. I beat the crap out of each one. Besides being tough, they're also super easy to adjust quickly with an allen wrench, and the markings are etched and easy to read.

Pros: super strong, durable, adjustable,

Cons: they never go on sale :)

Great tilt seat adjustment, easy to set up, no creaking and nice stealth, high quality appearance. Cant go wrong with Thomson goods.

Thomson Elite Seatpost

Thomson posts just plain work. Owned various ones for 8 years now and have never had a problem. Can be kind of annoying to fiddle with the the brass barrels when screwing on the top plate, but it is a minor inconvience for such a great component.

Thomson products look great and they just work. I have one on every bike and have never had an issue with a Thomson product. The clamp holds the rails on the saddle with no slippage.

Bang for the buck, best seatpost made. You get what you pay for. Beautifully made and designed. Clamp is easy to use and adjust. Post is light and strong.
These have super tight tolerances. They don't slip and drop like cheap posts do. Nor does your saddle come loose.


Pros: The Best.
