Just wanted to say thanks to all the guys at Universal Cylces Portland. I recently had a custom bike built up by Universal, and even though I ordered a couple of parts that did not work out, they made everything right and the bike looks and rides perfectly. Dear Universal, last week I purchased a bar and stem I was looking at for a long time. The price was right and I bought the products from your store after getting the free shipping. Your flow of operation is what stood out for me as a customer/consumer. I instantaneously received an order confirmation and 4 hours later my products were shipped, to top this off it arrived in not 7 days but in 2. I wanted to commend you folks on how you do business. Your website is great (has everything I want), and prompt delivery is fantastic! As you know there are on-line retailers that deceive you into thinking they have product in their inventory and don't tell you until you call them a few weeks later about the delay in delivery. Just wanted to thank you guys for your awesome customer service. Though it was only a small part I ordered (a chain catcher), when I returned it due to incorrect size (I measured wrong), you guys exchanged it for the correct size and shipped it out to me fast and with no hassles. This isn't a question as much as a thanks to the staff at universal cycle. I have bought many products in the last year but recently upgraded my chainring. Your staff walked me through the whole process and provided me with advice over several phone calls. They treated me as if I was spending thousands and not $100. I'm writing to whom it may concern to provide some positive feedback for the service and support I got from Mark H. I contacted him today with a last minute request to rework an order, which I placed in the AM. I spend most of my weekends racing everything from road double centuries to mountain bikepacking events. Naturally I'm always in a push trying to get myself and gear ready for the next weekend. I've been meaning to get an order together for some wheel parts so I can build over the weekend. Naturally I've been busy with a double century last weekend and a bikepacking trip the weekend before. So, I've got a free weekend and I know Tuesday is the deadline to get parts from Universal Cycles to my place in LA. I put together an order in the AM and placed it early so it would ship the sameday. Obviously I goofed up and picked a few items which would not be available to ship right away as they are not in stock.
I quickly realized that I had made a mistake and contacted Universal Cycles via the online chat. Mark H was able to help me sort out the issue, remove the items which couldn't ship today, add new items, and help get [my order] out the door for Tuesday shipping to my LA location on Friday. Amazing service and great help. I really like shopping with UC. I enjoy the good customer service, wide selection, and the online stock indication letting me know what you have on hand. It really makes a big difference for me. I wish you would put a Universal Cycles here in LA!!!
I've had Mark H. help me several times in the past and he is always doing a great job. The rest of the customer service department is always helpful as well and make shopping online feel more like a local shop. Keep up the good work guys!
Hey guys, just read today's Spoke'n'Word (really clever name btw) and just wanted to let you guys know I really enjoy them. They help keep me motivated to ride during the long Reno winters. Not only do I not memorize all the part specifications of all my bikes but it's so damn hard to keep track of all the esoteric and proprietary tech out there. With that said, I'm so thankful you guys keep such good records and make my old orders so accessible for me. I had to reference an order from 2008 to figure out what I needed to buy today.
