The 40-Series is the work-horse of Cane Creek's headset line-up and incorporates all the features necessary for a durable, light-weight, long-lasting headset while offering the perfect balance of performance, durability and value
- Replaces Cane Creek ZS-3 headset
- Contoured and relieved 6061-T6 aluminum for minimized weight and maximized strength, with split-lip sealed stainless steel bearings
- Low friction, Dual-Seal crown race and top cover provides maximum sealing from contaminants, plus a captured compression ring design for carbon steerer compatibility (Interlok spacer compatible, sold separately)
- ZS44 Zero Stack Cups fit 44mm ID Head tubes and 1-1/8" straight steerer tubes
- Black oxide, sealed cartridge bearings
- Zero Stack (ZS) assemblies feature press-in cups with bearings inside the frame
- 8mm stack height (short) top cover
- Internally relieved AL-6061 T-6 cups and covers
- Crown Race: 30.0
- Stack Height: 8mm Short, 15mm Tall, 4mm Bottom
- Bearing Type: Sealed

great value, smooth! Love that Cane Creek lets you pick up headsets as upper and lowers-- makes upgrading forks a bit cheaper as well!

I have been real happy with the quality of these headsets and will use them again in the future. Cartridge type bearings so no loose balls escaping. Rubber seal on the baseplate to help it stay clean inside for a little while longer than the old style. Comes with top cap and star nut. Great recomendation from the sales staff.
This headset has all metal parts with no plastic like the 10 series to wear out.
It is sealed pretty tightly and I've had no trouble with water or mud getting in.

Oh so smoooooooth This headset is about 20 times better than the OEM piece of junk that came in my frame. Easy to adjust. No muss, no fuss. Pros: Easy to adjust, smooth, smooth, smooth. Install was a breeze. Compared to the stock Ahead headset I had this unit services and performs amazing. Easy install with my headset press. Comes with crown race, star nut, upper/lower cups/bearings and cover.
