Avid Matchmaker Integrated Shifter Mounts

Love this. Have one clamp on both sides. Left side holds my X-loc and brake, right side holds my shifter and brake (I run 1x10). Great integrated design with enough adjustment to put things right where you want them.

Great product, just make sure you order the right one. The matchmaker works really well to clean up the bars.

clean looking bars

The Avid Matchmaker system is a nice way to cleanly mount compatible components on your handlebars. This is my second set as I broke the part that attaches the shifter on the right clamp during a crash. The new set is workng great, just like the old set.

Pros: installs components cleanly

Cons: expensive
not sold individually
sometimes I wish the angle between the shifters and brakes could be greater

Unfortunately, this is a weakly designed system IMHO. They break easily. Thankfully the weak part of the system that breaks easily can be individually replaced, but for a MTB shifter mount, it could be better

Best way to clean up your cock pit.

Your cockpit should be tidy.
These should come with the brakes, but so be it, sram got some more cash. It is worth it.
Who needs 5 rings on their bar. Now if only the reverb button was better integrated.

Pros: Clean cock pit is a happy cock pit

great way to clean up your cockpit

These really clean up the cockpit and can lighten up the bike a bit

Pros: makes the bike look clean with less clamps on the bar.

can put the shifters closer to your reach point.

Cons: Limits the adjust-ability of where you can have your shifter in relationship to your brake.

Simple, clean solution

Not much to say... This works as advertised and definitely cleans up your bars, while also dropping a few grams. All good.

I used the matchmakers to mount my x9 shifters on the central bar of a titec h-bar. It fits well, but puts the shifters at an odd angle. Its workable and certainly better than having my shifters way out on the front nubs of the Jones bar.

Pros: Nicely machined, lightweight, I think it comes with titanium bolts.

Cons: Expensive for a shifter/brake mount. Would be nice if they offered a cheaper version that didn't feature ti.

Super Clean Look, if you're running Avids

Not a lot to say, you get to combine brakes and shifters into one mount. The box says not to say it, but it "does what it claims to do". I used them until I swapped Avids out for Formulas, and enjoyed getting some extra flexibility back in setting up where I wanted things.

Pros: Gives the bars a clean, streamlined look.
A few grams in weight savings
Makes bar switches easier

Cons: Not a good amount of adjustment... if you like your cockpit a "certain way", these may not work for you.
A bit pricey.

Works, but broke one

I love the idea of this product and I installed it on DH bike with code brakes and a X.0 Shifter. Well half way through the season it snapped(might have been because of a prior crash, but there wasn't any visible damage). Luckily it comes with 2, so I just swapped it out for the other one, but my shifter position was less than optimal.

Pros: -cleans up the handlebars


Cons: -range of adjustment isn't as somewhat limited
-snapped one of them

Pretty Cool Addition

I really liked these back when I was running gears. It really cleans up the bar and gives a a nice integrated look.

Good product to for a cleaner cockpit

Great product to clean up your handle bars.

Pros: Well designed.
Fairly good amount of adjustability.

Cons: Limits the distance between brake levers and shifters which may not work for some riders.
Can't reuse bolts that came with shifters.
Shifters will get in the way when bleeding brakes.

I really like how these clean up the look of the bars and make it easier to adjust the placement of the shifter and brake lever. I have these on both my mtn bikes.

keeps handlebar clean and sweet

Helps clear clutter. Easy to adjust the angle and reach of both the brake lever and shifters. Looks sweet. For those gram counters, can easily shave off a couple with this baby. Order the XX shifter if you buy the Mag CR Elixer brake.
