Housing Jagwire is what I always end up buying. Its readily avail at my local shop. Seems to be the best deal compared to other high end packages. Pros: Dig the housing only. Sometimes I don't need the entire package/kit Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 18, 2013 Reviewed by: Charlie s., Oregon Was this review Helpful? This is my go-to housing when I need to replace cables and housing on my bikes. Cables slide nicely through it and I've never had a problem with this. Great, cheap way to set up bikes I tend to flip my bikes around to different parts and set ups, mainly because I can. The drawback is I often need new housing, so Jagwire's coil is nice because it is cheap, lasts a fairly long time and works well, with the added bonus of having some colors to use- might as well make the bike look a little sharper. Pros: The housing is great. It looks sharp, cuts easy and doesn't seem to wear. Most of my shifting has been pretty spot on as well, so the compression in the housing must be helping some. Cons: No complaints. Maybe a couple more housing ends could be included. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 12, 2012 Reviewed by: Paul S., PDX Was this review Helpful? Nice cable Riding in the rain nine months out of the year means I need to change my cables pretty often. I love the convenience of having a roll of cable housing in the garage, and the Jagwire L3 cable seems to be pretty good quality stuff. Replace often. I used to oil cables when they get sticky. Now I run stainless cables and just replace the housings often Pros: works great. No reason to spend more cause they wear from the inside out and insides are all just plastic liner anyway Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 02, 2012 Reviewed by: Elijah D., Alaska Was this review Helpful? Good Quality Housing This is nice housing. It's on the thinner side; for road bikes generally, but I also use it on my mountain bike. I'm using it on all 3 of my bikes currently. What I like about it is it will break away in the event of a super hard crash so it will save your shifters. There are stronger housing out there, but if something is going to break in a crash do you want something that costs a couple of dollars to break or something that costs a hundred dollars? Big fan of this housing. Pros: Looks nice and is not expensive. Shifting feels super smooth because of its teflon lining. Rigid so shifting is very consistent. Cons: Not the strongest housing in the world Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 26, 2012 Reviewed by: Darren R., Massachusetts Was this review Helpful? Pros: colored steez Cons: park cutters blow as far as cutting these, i got some bolt cutters for that now... thanks harbor freight... but now those suck at cutting these too, or maybe its just me? as so does every other cutter so maybe im a picky bitch..... works fine in shimano and sram systems, is easy tu cut and no damage your cable when you are introducing it on the hose. Pros: good for shimano and sram systems,

My current bike-- a Tracer29, is the first bike I've had that runs full housing, so I needed something to replace my SRAM product on the previous bike.
Glad I got this bulk housing, as the first cut I made was too short, so it was nice to have alot of extra to use.
Since its my first time using full housing, I can't compare shifting to previous bikes, but so far, its rock solid. Shifts are clean and happen right when I want them. Pros: Lots of housing-- good for a few builds!
cheaper than "big name stuff" Cons: thinner than the previous SRAM housing, so their stops aren't "clean" (but you get there stops) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 06, 2011 Reviewed by: Nick S., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great bargain If you ever think you'll work on rebuilding a bike, buy this stuff (unless you only run single speeds). It's a far better bargain than buying those fancy kits and works well. Also, if you mess up, you'll still have lots to work with. You also get a LOT of ferrules (end caps). Highly recommended. Pros: Great bargain, lots of colors, works well Cons: Not uber light or blingy? Works like all other Jagswire stuff Nice to have color options. Pros: Works like Shimano. Cons: Doesn't last quite as long as Shimano, but cables are a disposable item anyhow. Nothing fancy, just good quality housing that does its job and doesn't make trouble: grind the ends smooth after cutting, lube with a couple drops of a light synthetic oil, and you're good to go. Plus, colors! If you're just starting to maintain your own bikes, go ahead and buy housings by the roll: you'll use it eventually, and it's much less expensive than buying pre-cut kits. Worked like a charm When I rebuilt one of my bikes (a long wheelbase recumbent) i needed a LOT of housing, and the Jagwire is the top.
Lots of colors to match your ride, or good old basic black. Plenty of ferrules, and it's the slim 4mm diameter. That means that it's just that much easier to work with if you're running it through slip-on grips with bar-end shifters, or wrapping it with tape for aerobars.
If your bike a a couple of years old and you don't recall the last time the cable were worked on, do yourself a favor. Get some housing and cable and treat the bike right. Pros: lot of ferrules
Good level of flexibility
lots of colors
having a 25 foot roll means that even if you mess up, you've got more to work with Cons: It won't make me breakfast in the morning. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 31, 2011 Reviewed by: Stephen W., Tennessee Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great Value Better than paying buy the foot at LBS for the cheap stuff. Lasts longer and much more cost effective. Pros: Cost and long-lasting Cons: I like the sealed ferrules that come with the Ripcord kits, while these only come with unsealed plastic ones. They do the job, but if there is a con, this is it.
