POC Joint VPD 2.0 Protective Knee Guard

Best knee pads ever.

Had hard shell ones before, and they kept slipping.

This one has coolmax or whatever and breathes well too.

Note: NOT washable, but it doesn't stink even after one season.

Bought these for AM styled riding, just in case I take a fall. Haven't yet. Workmanship and quality of construction are very good. Pads do not slip and are comfortable. Only complaint is the VPD is significantly harder than d3o products that I've used in the past.

Pros: Comfortable and stays in place.

Cons: VPD is somewhat stiff, even in SoCalif temperatures. Internal label/tag is annoying and can irritate.

Seriously awesome knee pads. I followed the size charts on the POC website and these fit perfectly. I usually pull them on and ride off without adjusting anything and don't touch them again until I pull them off. They stay up amazingly well. I've had no need for the strap that goes behind the leg and took them off. The fabric is tough but stretchy and very comfortable. The flexible VPD padding is excellent and has a nice low profile. Good coverage to the sides but with the most protection where you need it over the front of the knee. I pair these up with a separate pair of shin pads when riding platform pedals and it makes for a very versatile set of pads.
