sweet bell, ringer wore out after a while i bought this about 4 years ago. the ringer eventually wore out though. it came loose and doesn't seem to be user serviceable. Pros: sound Cons: longevity Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 11, 2012 Reviewed by: abraham h., NYC Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
great little bell. Works best for the left hand. Louder than I am able to yell and seems to get people's attention better than yelling and they turn into me far less often. Pros: Simple. this bell has saved me from quite a few accidents since i've had it on...about a dozen in the first couple of days.
long lines of parked cars, cars pulling out, doors, cars/bikes turning in front of you, intersections where you have the right of way...cyclists are notorious for running 'stops'...please stop doing this and making it unsafe for other cyclists...we have enough to worry about with cars.
this bell is loud if you want it...TIP: clang it repeatedly if you have long lines of cars parked on your route...it has the same effect as a siren...people stop instantly.
TIP: use it to pass other cyclists...give us a break not the "wobblies"...PRACTICE MUTUAL AID...people love it and always say 'thanks'
thanks!
indispensable!
Pros: it could save your life...priceless, loud if you want it, quality Cons: clamp won't fit 31.8 h'bars...only 25.4/26...this is just plain dumbness for the sake of retro/classic nonsense...really too bad...lost a star for this...need to use a zip tie
the 'no' underneath is for the clamp Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 10, 2011 Reviewed by: Jeff P., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great bell at a great price. Extremely well made, looks great and has really loud, good tone with a lot of reverb. Makes a nice addition to my commuter. Pros: Sound
Look
Price Cons: Maybe a bit too loud if you ring directly behind someone. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 27, 2011 Reviewed by: Jeremy H., Illinois Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great quality retro bell with a good sound I picked up this bell for my grandson's bike (4 yrs old). He loved the look and the quality and durability of the bell have been impressive. The sound is loud, but pleasant. Has a definite chime sound like the bells at a hotel desk. Pros: Good quality and nice old school look. Cons: price is high, but not excessive. Big & loud The best and loudest bicycle bell out there for handlebar mount. A wonderfully deep, brassy sound unlike any other bicycle bell out there. Polishes to a mirror shine, to impress your friends aurally & visually. People inside cars will hear you coming.
Makes a great gift. Pros: beautiful sound, all brass construction Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 01, 2011 Reviewed by: DL, Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Simply the nicest bell I am aware of. Excellent, rich, loud tone. I like it better than the equally beautiful, non-spring loaded version also sold here, as this one is completely quite over bumpy roads. Pros: Classy appearance, rich tone, nice touch of retro Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 24, 2011 Reviewed by: Fredrik S., International Was this review Helpful? Go for the brass This is a powerfully shrill bell that really gets peoples attention. We have a brass version and an aluminum version. The brass version has a great sound but the aluminum bell doesn't sound nearly as pleasant. Its a bit to sharp of a sound for us. Also this bell doesn't work well in the rain. The water seems to almost completely inhibit the bell sound from a "ping" to a "thunk". Pros: Loud, attention getting sound. Cons: The aluminum version is a bit too shrill and doesn't work well in the rain. Also the bell is a bit large in size. Crane Bell Company Suzu Bell This bell is BIG, almost 2" in diameter. Excellent tone. Nice hammer mechanism. Very loud so use with care or if you give a full strike too close to a pedestrian you'll likely scare them rather than give them a courteous notice of your presence. Pros: The hardware fits both 26.0/25.4 road bars and mtb handlebars. Cons: Big Bell, becomes a space hog on the handlebars for drop bars.
