Pretty Decent Stuff, Really
I can only rightfully tell about the 8 speed shifters I'm using, but to my knowledge they are the same other than the number of shift detents - and I have to say I like them. I'm running a 1x8 drivetrain setup with a Microshift Marvo rear derailleur, 11-32 Shimano cogset, and KMC chain, and the shifting is accurate, fast, and quiet. The body of the shifter is mainly made of what looks like fiber injected resin, and it looks nice and feels solid; the clamp band is aluminum. The larger downshift lever on my eight speeder is also aluminum and can catch three gears in a reasonable stroke, even with my small hands - the smaller upshift trigger is plastic, but has a decently positive feel. The only minor negative I can register is that the upshift trigger is a little hard to find until you get used to its location. Cable access is easy, no complaints there. Can't comment on long term durability, but I like how it's starting out.
