Perfect for inexpensive 1 X 10 conversion
If you are like me and you're confused about which derailleur you need to use for a wide range cassette " 40 or 42 teeth " this one works. No modification needed. I didn't even need a long B Tension screw. The info on the site says 36 tooth max but this one had plenty of adjustment even with the 42 I installed. Matter of fact I had to back off the screw a little after I installed it. I'm running it with a 30 tooth narrow wide on the front. I'm using the medium cage with a full suspension frame. When my shock compresses it pulls the cage forward and this was a perfect setup for a single pivot 120mm travel frame. 1st gear suspension compressed I still have enough cage to not over stretch it. In 10th it is also perfect. Very close. If you're using a longer travel frame you might need a long cage but I'm not positive.
