A good product with some design challenges

I purchased this spoke wrench because I was looking for an alternative to the Park spoke wrench. There are two problems with the Park wrench: 1) it can get slippery, and 2) if you build a lot of wheels the tool can wear down over time, and that can result in a stripped nipple.

What I like about this tool is its flat and wide grip. Wide is nice because it makes small adjustments of spoke tension much easier. Also, it grips the nipple on 4 sides so there's little chance of the tool slipping. That feature cuts both ways: you must almost perfectly align the tool with the nipple, otherwise they won't fit together. This slows down the wheelbuilding process considerably.

I still use this tool, but I save it for the final tensioning. The Park wrench is used for about 90% of the process because it's just faster.

Pros: Nice grip.
Makes small adjustments to spoke tension easier.

Cons: Slows wheel-building.
Expensive.
