Great road crankset for the rest of us

I've been riding these with these cranks for about a year now on my road/rando bike. I've taken them out on numerous 100+ mile rides in a broad range of terrain.

I absolutely love the 46/30 tooth combo - 30 is small enough for tough hills without too much weight and if you're not racing, the 46 tooth large ring is plenty large for descents with an 11 or 12 tooth small cog in the back.

The cranks are pretty light compared to similarly priced options.

I've not had any problems with the rings or cranks flexing, even powering up hills.

I'm running the cranks with a 10 speed chain and occasionally over-shift when upshifting quickly (I haven't been able to adjust this out). Annoying, but the butt end of the crank actually catches the chain, and allows me to downshift back onto the chainrings without stopping and getting off the bike.

I like the classic look of the cranks, though the square butt end of the cranks knocks into my ankles occasionally. One of the self-extracting dust caps came off at one point and Velo Orange sent me a new one for free!

Pros: Light, great gearing, pretty, strong

Cons: knocking ankles on crank arms

Thought this crank would be the cat's meow. Unfortunately, there is some much flex in the big ring that the chain contacts the inside of the front derailer and dumps.

Pros: pretty and light

Cons: chain won't stay on the big ring so, basically worthless
