My favorite mountain bike pedalI've been using these for years for trail riding on steep, rocky, bouncy desert trails. Combined with a pair of Five Ten mountain bike shoes, my feet are solidly on the pedal but I can still make subtle adjustments without having to take my foot completely off the pedal as is necessary with pedals that have pins. I ride frequently and have found this ability to make subtle adjustments to be essential for avoiding knee and other pains. I also like that they are longer rather wider which helps to avoid pedal strike in ruts, narrow rock passages, etc. On the other hand, they are rather thick so might be more prone to pedal strike for obstacles directly under the pedal. Speaking of pedal strikes, they have been whacked on numerous rocks but have help up well. Over the years of heavy use I've had two pedals begin to seize up in the bearings but they are relatively cheap and easy to replace. They are bit heavier compared to other pedals.
