smooth cog
So far a nice ss cog ... its smooth, somewhat quiet and has a wide 7mm spline, accurate tooth profile CNC cut from rigid chromoly steel. It is 5/64 thick rather than the traditional 3/32, but I haven't really noticed. Unfortunately the shimano HG interface includes the one-way only wide spline preventing the cog from being flipped (for evening out chain ware). And not sure why but the teeth are not centered within the 7mm spline base. Also, it doesn't hurt to take a fine metal file to the splines and soften those edges because they will mar the aluminum rotor body.
