Perfect Solution
My Marin mountain bike was perfectly suited to me when I bought it. But I'm older now and the lean-forward design is just too much for my wrists anymore. Otherwise, I still love my bike. So ignore the 2 previous reviews. Ugly? Not quite. I'd post a pic if I could. It matches my other hardware and looks like came on my bike. Was my "steerer tube" cut prematurely? NO! It came that way and is typical of this style of bike. WHEN YOU INSTALL IT, MAKE SURE YOU GET IT TIGHTEND DOWN WELL. Use a wrench that you can get good leverage on.
It was just the trick to renew my interest in my bike!
Pros: Raised my handlebars as needed.
Matches the rest of the hardware on my bike.
Cheaper than buying a new bike!
Cons: None yet.

These are OK for making a city bike or a drop bar mountain bike or something like that. Just don't expect the guys in the trailhead parking lot to oooh and ahhh over your setup.
Pros: Gets your bars up higher.
Cons: Uuuuggggllly!

If you have to add this to your bike then you're already putting a band aid on. This is a product you need when you had your steerer tube cut prematurely or inherited a bike with a cut steerer. Unfortunately, this product is not very good looking and if you give your handlebars a good nudge like when transporting your bike inside a car the stem will twist on this riser. If you really need this you may want to consider a new fork instead.
