They say not for 9 speeds - believe it.
I did a conversion of an old townie bike to a 1x8 drivetrain, with 11-32 cogs. I had been running a PC59 chain, 6.2mm across the outside plates, to find out it chainsucked HARD. Granted, this is an old, rather narrow 9 speed chain, but my Surly single chainring didn't like it AT ALL. Switched over to a KMC 8.93, 6.7 mm width, and now it's quiet, tolerant of all chain angles, and a delightful companion. This chainring is well worth the money, excellent for single speeders, but if you want a 1x9 or more, it isn't the best choice.surly 1x stainless chainrings
i 've used these on a 1x8 winter beater in canada for the last few years, they are a good deal. i need them to last in a bad environment and the fact that they are reversible is good too! just wish that they would make them in 104 x 40, 42, and 44t for my new winter bike.best single speed chainring ever
awesome chainring, smooth and quiet, available in many sizes, 3/32 in ... the best part is the simple profile cut from stainless steel
