Measurement tool better than go / no-go gauge

This Park CC-2 tool works fine - just read the instructions carefully. The pin on the blunt end goes in an outer half link. The pin on the pointed end goes in an inner half link. Apply light pressure to the rotating cam, and voila, a real measurement of chain stretch.

I tried three different chains and got repeatable results on all of them. Two were borderline shot - tool just paid for itself.

Any QA engineer will tell you that a measurement is 10x better than a go / no-go gauge (ie the Park CC-3) because if the chain passes, you have no idea by how much, and by the next time it might be too late.



Pros: An actual measurement tool.
Works on the bike, no need to remove chain.

Cons: Hard to read measurement window (thin and deep), but OK.
