Faster in Every Direction - The new R5 frame is 130g lighter than the previous model—a 16% reduction from an already-light frame. And while aerodynamics weren’t a focus with this frame the way they would be on an S5 or P5, bringing the cables inside reduced drag by 25g
Darker Than Night, Lighter Than Air - The color black may absorb all light, but Cervélo Five Black is anything but heavy. This ultra-minimal graphics and paint package results in a frame that’s significantly lighter—they’ll never even see you coming
Less Stiff, Still Fast - The R5 is stiff, but not too stiff—the Goldilocks of climbing bikes if you will. Poise, stability, and power transfer that feels “just right” and keeps you fresh and ready to take on the road ahead
Handling/Stability - The latest iteration of R5 sees an increase in chainstay length, lower bottom bracket height, and decreased headtube angle. These changes to handling have a cumulative effect for a more stable, front-to-rear balanced, planted in-the-bike ride feel. Smaller sizes feature their own unique fork size to allow for a constant trail for all frame sizes
Handlebar and Seatpost Optimization - Handlebar shaping optimized for aerodynamic gains. Stem faceplate compatible with computer/accessory mounts, and hides internally routed Di2 cables for a clean, aero cockpit. D-Shaped seatpost provides better compliance properties, and improved aerodynamics for the fastest possible ride. Seatpost clamp is hidden under rubber cover keeping debris out of the rearward facing bolt, and maintains seat height when removing seatpost from frame
