Best value for money 29+ rim
Wanted to upgrade my bike to 1x11, so I took a gamble and purchased a pair of these rims for a 29+ wheel build. I built them up with a pair of Novatec hubs I had (solid hubs if you replace the stock bearings with Enduro). I did a brief test then headed out on a 300 mile 5 day bikepacking trip, not the best idea I know!
The rims were perfect over a variety of conditions, from asphalt to rocky downhill bombs. I checked them after the trip and they were still perfectly true with no dings. Easy tubeless with 45mm polyester/silicone masking tape (all I had) & Maxxis Chronicle 29x3.0 tires. The rims have a lip close to the sidewalls to prevent the tire bead from slipping and burping.Pros:
Great value compared to the typical $100+ price range for 29+ rims. Proved to be durable after 300-400 miles.Cons:
Shiny black finish not my first choice. Decals are a little too bold for my liking.Would Buy Again:
