pleasantly surprised
i was hesitant to purchase after reading a few reviews of the issues with zippers and lack of waterproofing,and in my case those have been debunked.Winter rider
I SO wanted to love these boots. Solid sole, comfortable to ride or walk in, obviously warmer than neoprene shoe covers. But today in a downpour at the Oregon coast, within 3 miles water leaked steadily into the lower zipper area just above the toes. The zippers are not watertight and leak badly in real rain. The mfr. website says "designed for wet winter cycling" and "unrivaled weather protection in the wettest and muddiest of conditions." This is, simply put, wrong and misleading. These would work fine if the mfr. put a rigid rubber flap over the zipper which, at $225, should not have been omitted. [These are brand new and I made certain that the leakage was not due to poor rain-pant fit, which can cause water to drain from the top into even the best boots.] And once water gets in it has no where to go, so it sloshes around. Sorry, so disappointed in what could have been a great product.
