Haven't dropped a chain in two CX seasons
Coupled with a clutched RD you will not drop your chain, no chain watcher required. This thing is bombproofWorked for me
I trained and raced all last cyclocross season with one of these (40 tooth) paired with a full Ultegra 6700 drivetrain (derailleur, chain, shifters, cassette). Not a single drop. Pretty awesome.. I'll be using it again next season.Awesome. Sticks like glue.
I paired this with a clutch derailleur for a 1x10 cyclocross drivetrain. I can't believe how well this chainring holds on to the chain. it's quite amazing and refreshing going from a dual guard setup.Excellent
I picked up a 44t version for my All City Mr. Pink I'm running as 1x10. So far it's serving it's purpose excellently. I experienced a couple chain drops on my previous 3/32 "standard" front chainring. Instead of adding a chain guide I figured I'd give the narrow wide option a try. The Race Face one is reasonably priced so I opted for it.
