The Thomson X4 is stronger and 30 grams lighter than the Thomson Elite 25.4 mountain stem. It features a traditional steerer clamp that is shaped to save weight and to be knee friendly. Light enough for Cross Country or Road is only part of the story. The X4 is absolutely the best combination of strength and weight available. Thomson stems are the strongest in the industry, meaning freeride and downhill riders can run Thomson confidently.

Thomson X-4 stem

The BEST MTB STEM

These are Light weight, look good, are very stout and virtually indestructible in normal usage.

Pros: These have been Very-well designed and built to last. That's what VALUE is about, and it's great to Support High Quality U.S. Made goods whenever possible.

Traildog

Nicest, stiffest stem available IMHO. Not the first Thomson product that I've used and won't be the last. Get one that fits you, and its likely to be the last you will need or want on any bike.

Pros: Quality! Very nice finish and construction. Stiff. Worth every penny.

Cons: Pricey

nice workmanship

Purchased this in silver, hoping it was the gunmetal color i have seen. It is not. I am sending them back to exchange for the black color. I have no doudt that it will live up to the Thomson reputation.
