Very Effective Device
These units do a great job holding up your bike. They are fine with either front or rear wheel. They are heavy enough that they don't try to slide away as you roll your bike in. If you have a decent sense of balance, they are stable enough that you can get in the saddle while on the rack to check your seat height or stem adjustments. I have five of them - they worked great strung together to hold the steeds of my RAGBRAI visitors in a warm dry garage on a rainy night.One great rack!
I just bought one of these to see how well it would hold up my road bike with 23mm tires; the verdict is in and it works amazingly well. The design is simple and elegant while being very sturdy. No part of the rim touches the stand and there is very little lean at all. This rack works so well I'm getting a 2nd one for my other road bike. P.S. the guys and gal at Universal Cycles use these stands to display there bikes on above ground displays; that is confidence!
