Great choice for square taper cranks
A great light weight bottom bracket shaft, for square taper cranks.
Bearings are easy to replace( use shaft and a wood/rubber hammer
to drive bearings out of cups).
Uses 17x30x7mm bearings. Comes with these bearings 13360-29196
which are not "angular contact" and instructions for
no preload. Drive side bearing seemed to wear a bit
much after 2500miles. Have successfully used stronger 17x30x10
drive side bearing 13357-123263 with a 2.5mm spacer under
drive side cup (no preload, use 17x30x7 on non-drive side).
An actual angular contact bearing is 77745-185759
(install red side in, with preload), which should
be stronger; am running a pair of these bearings now.
Suggest repacking bearings with Dura Ace grease
17645-154758 before installing. And I add a few
drops of Liqui Moly additive to the grease. Bearings seem to
be lasting better with this greasing.
Pros: Adjustable. Replacable standard size bearings.
Cons: Need appropriate mechanical skills to install.

Yes No Report as InappropriateSmooth, high quality
Well, I wondered how much difference I could detect between this W.I. BB and a Shimano square taper model. Turns out a lot. Where as the Shimano felt like running in mud when pedaling this one feels like gliding on ice. Solid unit. Pretty finish. High quality materials. I've read where sometimes they don't last that long, I'm guessing a year or so which isn't a great price to durability ratio, but so far it's working fine.
Pros: Smooth
Cons: price but you get what you pay for with most bike parts
