Cadillac of pumps

We use this for all of our bikes - mountain, road/clincher, road/tubular. What I like is that while it can get to the high pressure we run in our tubulars, it can also put out huge volume for pumping up a big MTB tire. Most pumps can't do that.

It's easy to change the pump volume, there's a three position indicator on the handle between your hands. Start pumping any tire up with the high volume switch set, then flip over to the mid volume/mid pressure to get it up to about 100psi, then over to HP for high pressure or to top off your road tires quickly.

I didn't care for the "Smarthead" from Topeak, so I cut it off and put on my favorite Silca head that I have been using for decades. We only use presta valves so this is not an issue. Pump heads are sort of a consummable anyhow.

If I were to have one pump, it would be the Silca Super Pista or the SKS Rennkompressor - both are mechanic quality tools and can have any part replaced. You'll have both pumps or the rest of your life if you take care of them. This one is a toss away if it breaks but it's functionality is superb.

Other than the repairability issue, the only thing is that if you travel with this, the spring inside will drive you nuts. You need to leave it switched over to the side that doesn't make noise (never remember this and always have to stop and set it the other way) which is the HP side or the HV side. One way leaves the spring rattling around with any motion of the car. That's why I travel with my Silca.

Pros: Easy to pump up ANY tire.

Cons: Smart head is sort of "meh". I'd replace it.
Internal spring can make noise and drive you nuts when traveling.
