These are my favorite Canadian winter commuter tires. Good tread for snow, enough properly placed studs to get you out of ruts and give traction too, and wide enough to air down for traction. You will be a lot slower than summer, but that's to be expected. I've tried the 26" Hakkapeliitta 240s (too aggressive but great traction). I've also tried 700c Xerxes (good idea , not enough studs), 700c Gravdals (better but a couple pinch flats running lower pressure for traction). I just ordered some Ice Spiker Pros.
I would give 5 stars if they made them in 700c. Pros:
Excellent tread for winter, the right amount of properly placed studs to help get you out of ruts.Cons:
Heavy compared to summer tires, you will be quite slower. I switched to a 700c bike and they don't make the M&G in 700c. Please, Soumi, make some 2.1" or 2.2" in 700c for me?Would Buy Again:
