Rock Shox Rear Shock Service Kits

good service kit

I used this to rebuild a Monarch rear shock. I downloaded the instructions from SRAM's website and just followed the instructions. You will probably need the Monarch shock pump adapter to fill the negative air chamber after servicing if you don't want to take it to a shop for nitrogen filling.

Pros: nice service kit

Cons: don't forget the separate shock pump adapter

For monarch kits:
These kits are very complete and include everything you need for a full rebuild. I was surprised to see every o-ring and seal I needed on the kit as well as a IFP, grub screws, DU bushings etc. They might seem expensive but they are the most complete rebuild kits out there.

Pros: Very complete
High quality parts

Cons: None

Kit Has Everything

This kit is for a full rebuild of your Monarch. Rock Shox sells another one that is essentially just for the air sleeve maintenance, but no one seems to have it. It's also not much less expensive.

I really wish they'd follow Fox's lead and provide a cheap, basic maintenance kit.

Pros: Has EVERYTHING you need for a complete rebuild

Cons: I would rather have the option of a cheaper kit for basic maintenance.
