Darn tuff stuff

I was a bit skeptical about this wrap at first but ill say this stuff does protect your chain stay. I do recommend covering you stay with some tape first (I use electrical tape) so that the frame finish stays fresh for years to come. While the wrap itself will protect from most anything the fact that dirt can work between the wraps might wear frame finish off over time. It is so tough it kept a bad case of mud induced chain suck from fowling my frame. The wrap isn't even damaged. Good stuff.

Pros: Tough, protects the frame from damage.

Cons: Dirt may get between the wraps and cause paint wear if you don't put tape under it before install. Otherwise this stuff should last for years.

A very functional and cheap seat stay wrap, but not the most elegant if you ask me. I also didn't like that I couldn't get the ends to lay exactly flush with my stays. Plus sides are it's not adhesive and will definitely protect your stays!

Pros: Cheap, protects your chain stays, easy to remove/install.

Cons: Ended up not liking the way it looked and removed it. Just not the most elegant solution.

So far it works well. Not the most pretty thing but it protects much more of my chain stay from getting hammered when removing the wheel and various other injuries.

Pros: Easy to install and protects much better than all other protectors I've tried. Easy to install than lizard skins.

Cons: Not terribly pretty.

This stuff is about as uncool as it gets, but it's arguably the -best- chainstay protector you can buy. It's thick plastic that doesn't get chewed up or slashed apart by chainsuck, it installs easily and uniformly (just wind it around the chainstay, as shown), and it lasts a good long time (I've had one for over ten years that I just keep moving between bikes). Downside? It's actually thick enough that you must consider tire clearance if you want to wrap the entire length of the chainstay (which you do if you want protection against chainsuck). Also, it's probably heavier than alternatives.

I started using this wrap after having used lizard skins for a while. My lizard skins got some holes in them but this stuff holds up better. The only issue is it need some electrical tape to keep the ends from unraveling.

Pros: Simple to use
light

Cons: Needs tape

Works well to protect your chainstay, but doesn't eliminate as much chain slap noise as the thicker padded velcro protectors.

Pros: Cheap, durable.

Light and durable

I put it on my bike years ago and never had to think about it since. That's the best recommendation I could give for this product. It's light. It's durable. Use it and forget it.

Pros: Light, durable, and trouble free.

Cons: None.

good wrap

Good protection, easy to install just put a bit of black tape on the ends and it can be taken off and reused.

Pros: Easy to install no more stretching or pulling, good protection.

Cons: Needs tape or something on the ends but no big deal.

Light and very durable. I use a little bit of electricians tape at each end to keep it in place.

Protects chain stay... not only from chain but also impacts. My wife slid off an obstacle and the impact split the stay wrap but chain stay was fine.

Pros: Tougher then other chain stay protectors.

Cons: Can slip around
