Great freewheel I bought this for my single speed commuter and what an upgrade it is compared to my cheap Shimano freewheel. I bought this one because it will last and it's sealed, which, in Portland Oregon, is necessary with all the rain we get.
This freewheel is quite heavy and I noticed it immediately, but it's not a huge problem. It is also very expensive, but the store credit I had helped a little and I've read plenty of reviews that it's worth it. Pros: Clicky
Sealed
Cons: Heavy
Expensive Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 17, 2013 Reviewed by: Cody C., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
The best option if you are running a threaded FW set-up on your SS rig These FWs work amazingly well. As long as you're not using a stretched chain, they seem to want to run problem-free forever. Through experience, I would highly recommend dropping the coin for White's FW removal tool. Pros: Low maintence SS riding will be yours...if the price is right. Cons: Not inexpensive, but I have yet to need to open one of these up. And I've been riding SS for almost 10yrs... Best freewheel ever This has been on my singlespeed for three years now, winter snow rides, shoulder season crud rides, summer super-dust, and everything in between. It looks like new, it rides like new, I've honestly don't know if I've ever done any maintenance on it.
I ride quite a few bikes, and my single speed with this, chris king bottom bracket and headset, and DT swiss hubs requires no upkeep, just some hose spray to stay happy - almost makes me want to throw everything else away. Pros: Everything Cons: nothing Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 05, 2012 Reviewed by: Owen R., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
ill never look back. after burning through 3 generic singlespeed hibs i finally broke down and gave the eno a try. and i have to say i am impressed! its a little heavy and a little loud but it is smooth to the pedal stroke and knowing i can take it apart and relube makes me grin ear to ear Pros: you can relube this thing! it has thick teeth that actually will pull your chain unlike the crappy generic hubs. Cons: heavy, loud. but when your out in the woods you dont even hear it. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 18, 2012 Reviewed by: brad P., Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? ENO freewheel Put this on my Spot single speed 8 months ago. I ride 4-5 days a week and it shows little signs of wear. Engagement is spot on. Has a nice sound as you coast along too. Another White Industries Quality Component As with all the White Industries products. I have yet to find one I'm disappointed with. The freewheels are as well. I have a 16t and an 20t. They are a bit pricey but worth it. Pros: Great quality, Great sound, very durable. This is purportedly the best single-speed freewheel out there. I don't doubt it, but I just couldn't live with the clatter that quality makes. This was one loud unit, and sold it on.
Your results may vary. Pros: Sexy machining
Great seals Cons: The not so subtle rattle Would Buy Again: No Reviewed on: June 14, 2011 Reviewed by: Orlando, Canada Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

I cannot say that I know of a better freewheel, I have several sizes of these & they are impeccable. Machining is flawless, the internals are high quality perfection, engagement quick & the sound quality is wonderful. Nice to hear. Easily serviceable, bearings can be repacked, pawls & ring drive relubed with Phil's Tenacious or a very slick liquid grease. All you need are a pin spanner & patience. They are expensive when compared to dicta or acs, but when you think about how rough those run & how many you will go through consider this an investment that will out last at least 6 lesser FWs (as long as you properly change your chain).
Sublime Product! Pros: Flawless construction

This is one strong freewheel. I am using it on a electric bike, attached to a crankarm to make a freewheeling crankset, and this is hooked up to a 2 HP electric motor. Point is this application puts out way more power than a rider can, and this freewheel is able to handle it. Before I switched to this freewheel, the cheap freewheels I had been using were good for only a few months before they were toast and had to be replaced. I am on my second year with this now. Pros: Strong, strong, and strong Cons: expensive, but worth it Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 18, 2010 Reviewed by: Terry T., Hawaii Was this review Helpful? This freewheel is an investment. You may spend 4 or 5 times as much to purchase this but it lasts so much longer than a regular freewheel. Pros: Sealed bearings. Only True Mt. Bike Freewheel If you ride a single speed regularly especially in the northwest these are worth every penny. They sound cool, look cool and i have yet to destroy one. I was going through 2-3 shimanos a year until i bought this. The ACS claw was another freewheel i have used that i liked and lasted about twice as long as the shimanos which cost about a third of this. Bottom line, if you ride single and ride a lot don't waste your time or money on anything but white industries. If you want the bees knees get the trials version (green) 72 engagement points, Mmmmmm. Pros: Longevity

White Ind. Freewheel Only true high quality single speed freewheel I've been able to find. Use it on my single speed road trainer... no no excessive noise, no creaking sounds. Feels very strong under hard accelleration. Pros: Excellent quality and durability. Cons: Price, but you get what you pay for. My Pedro's freewheel tool did not fit exactly, not sure if that's a problem, or I use the wrong tool. I bought my first White Industries freewheel 3 years ago and it's still in great shape. I've ridden it in the rain, mud, and it keeps on going. I just bought a another one for multiple gear options for cyclocross and didn't think twice about spending the extra money for a quality product. You definitely get your money's worth with this product. Pros: Durability, quality, performance Cons: none, maybe cost?
