Dia-Compe Mod 750 Center Pull Brakes

I have used thes for multiple 700c to 650b conversions. They are a cheep and easy way to get the reach you likely need while still having decent stopping power. Just replace the pads with koolstop salmons and you are good to go.

Pros: cheep way to get long reach

Cons: stock pads stink

Center pulls!!!!!

These are my favorite kind of brakes. These are perfect for replacing old Weinmann/Dia-Compe brakes on vintage bikes, and because they have such a long reach and long slots to slide the pads in, you can use different sizes of wheels in different frames (like updating an old frame that normally has 27" wheels to 700c). The brakes come with decent brake pads and nuts/bolts/spacers to mount them on pretty much any frame situation. Way to go, Dia-Compe! Keeping vintage bikes looking vintage and on the road safely.

Pros: Attractive, powerful, extremely long reach. I'm thoroughly pleased with these brakes.

Cons: none yet.

Dia-Compe

I retrofitted an old 1976 Fuji with these brakes. They greatly improved the stopping power for my around town grocery bike.

Pros: Easy to adjust, Long reach

Cons: A bit difficult to set the pull cable
