Chainstay protector Needed something for my kids chainstay on his new hardtail. Lizard skins are easy to find at stores. Velcro is easy to use Pros: Easy to use Velcro. Stretches to size. Cons: Sizing isn't straight forward. Trial and error for me. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 16, 2013 Reviewed by: Charlie s., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Lizard Skin I bought this thinking jumbo would be good for 29er. But, it was too wide for steel chainstay. Ended up cutting and using tie straps. It will protect your chainstay from anything it comes in contact with. Pros: Easy to install Cons: Not clear on sizes Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 06, 2013 Reviewed by: bud m., katy, tx Was this review Helpful? Purchased this for a FS mountain bike that had no chainstay protector. My frame chainstay is very large in diameter, but this stretched to fit. Also, after all the mud and water, the velcro has not failed once.
Very happy with this Pros: Fit large tubes, super strong velcro, keeps chain quiet Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 05, 2013 Reviewed by: Johnno, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Lizard Skin Frame Protectors The Super Jumbo fits bigger chainstays. It does exactly what its designed to do. It protects the chainstay and quiets down the chain slap Pros: Fit is great with the jumbo. Measure the chainstay and make sure you get the right size. Protects and quiets like its suppose to. Cons: I wish it was a little longer. Most chainstays are around 17". Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 07, 2011 Reviewed by: BK, Montana Was this review Helpful? Simple installation I've used various methods to protect the drive side chainstay of my bikes - different bar tape, old inner tubes, duck tape, etc. This is the easiest install and protects well. Velcro attachment make removal easy. Pros: easy to install and removal Cons: grit caught underneath can damage frame finish Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 21, 2011 Reviewed by: Ranier D., Armed Forces Europe, Middle East, Africa, Canada Was this review Helpful? gets the job done I use electrical tape at either end to transtion to the frame tube and that helps keep it in place. I ordered the super jumbo for my Niner Air 9, fits good. Works well! This thing is easy to use and works great. Just wrap it around and velcro the ends together. Can be trimmed for length. I did and it hasn't affected it at all. Is neoprene like material, so protects well and cleans up easily. Pros: Great no nonsense product Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 15, 2010 Reviewed by: jeff f., Arizona Was this review Helpful? Super jumbo size fits my fat, carbon chainstay. Keeps chain slap noise to a minimum and protects the finish of the frame. You can cut one in half and use it on the lower portion of the seatstay to prevent upward chain slap/damage. Pros: Quick and easy to installed. Cons: It would be nice if the product description listed the usable circumference for the various Lizard Skin sizes.
