This is a great compliment to any build. Looks good and is bomb proof. This is my go to post.

Pros: Set back gives me that extra space.

Cons: Spendy.

I need a setback seat post and love Thomson. The post is bomb proof like all Thomson stuff I have used. My only gripe is the way the post gets its setback. A lot of the post is angled and with the amount of extension I use, I can't clamp it in my bike stand. No functional issues at all.

Pros: Thomson quality.

Cons: A pain to clamp in a stand, not really as elegant as other setback styles.

These are strong, secure and reliable. They look nice too. And it's easy to get your saddle tilting at just the right angle. And they are made in USA. All-time classic.

This is the gold standard for seat posts. Bulletproof strong and has a nice finished look. Quality part - you won't need to buy a new seatpost for a very long time.

Super strong, nice setback, very adjustable, doesn't move, won't break, still comes in silver.
Everything Thomson makes works great.

It's a Thomson seatpost, and Thomson's reputation speaks for itself: it's not the lightest post you can buy, but it's impeccably well made and as strong as you'll ever need. The saddle clamp can seem a bit fiddly, but follow the instructions and it'll work perfectly every time (and never slip). My only quibble? Thomson gets its 15mm setback by putting a bend in the post instead of offsetting the head/clamp like most other designs: I understand that this is the stronger approach, but it sure does look odd (and garner plenty of comments from other cyclists who assume it's a "custom" post to correct for an undersized frame).

Had numerous problems with my old single screw seatpost. Invested in a Thomson and never looked back. Seat never moves and simple to adjust. Not to heavy either for something that is built like a tank. Good price as well

My stock seatpost on my Trek was a joke. I have set this thing once, and it hsn't moved since, after multiple endo's. This is literally the best seatpost for the money.

Thomson is the only seat post I buy any more. The fine adjustment for the seat angle is great if you put long hours on the saddle. Fine finish holds very well in the seat-tube and has never squeaked. I'm quite tall and have long arms so this helps get my better aligned with the bike without the need for a ridiculously long stem.

Thomson's superior quality and manufacturing creates a massively superior product.

Micro adjustable and graduated post head is its greatest feature.

Great Seat posts. Easy to install. Well Built and rarly have issues. Do not squeek creak or loosen up.

the Set back post is perfect if you need to get you pelvis behind the cranks.

Pros: The bestest~! Light. Classy looks. I hope they are still made in the USA.

Cons: If you overtighten the bolts, they can be a pain to find replacements. The bolt is rouned as it seats against the post so it can align itself as the seat rotates around the post.ie when you raise or lower the nose of the saddle.

Legendary Thomson quality speaks for itself. You will not be disappointed in this seat post or any Thomson product. Can be a little tricky to adjust the small 4mm socket bolts and not scratch the finish.

Everything has been said about Thomson stems and seatposts. Bottom line; if you want a post to stay with you, buy a Thomson. There are others that are good, but Thomson makes the best, period.

I love Thomson posts for the same reasons I love their stems. Super high quality, great range of sizes, strong (I weigh 200 lbs.). I do have one minor beef w/ the seatposts, though... the seat rail clamps appear to be cast, I would prefer these to be forged or machined. Also, the clamps are a tad wider than some and took a bite out of my (very narrow) Selle Italia Gel Flite. However, I've never had even a hint of a problem with the post itself... I use a differnt saddle now.

Pros: High quality, handsome design.

Cons: Seat clamps could be upgraded, maybe?

Really the benchmark for all other seatposts. I have noticed an improvement in the black anodizing with the last couple of seatposts I have bought. It seems to be alot more resilient and fade proof. All torquing recommendations should be followed closely. I used a Thomson seatpost clamp on my last build and over-torqued the fixing bolt accidently. As a result I managed to indent my Thomson seatpost on the sides very slightly. It still fits perfectly and shows no sign of fatigue. It is probably a good advertisement for the strenght of both components!

The Go To Post

Thomson sets the standard with seatposts. Been using them for years with no issues what so ever. The setback on this post allows me to get into the right postison.

A great seatpost, there's a reason why so many pimped out bikes rock a Thomson.
