great post for fixing up the old frankenstien bike of cannibalized parts, but need a proper seat post so your seat doesn't keep falling off... great post for the price

It's a seat post, that's for sure. For something so cheap (got it for around $20), I am surprised I haven't had any problems with it.

The seat post works well for bikes that support it -- it fits snugly and holds the seat firm. It's a bit heavy, but anyone who cares about that already knows that you pay for lightweight components.

I ride heavy XC and haven't had any issues.

This is an old standby. I'm really not sure why. These seatposts always slip for me, no matter how much I tighten down the one bolt. And once they start slipping, the edges of the friction strips get rounded and they slip even easier. I'm sticking with two bolt seatposts from now on, wherever possible.

There is not much to say here, this is a basic seatpost, no fancy clamp system, no beautiful graphics. This is a workhorse for the price, solid, tried & true design. Hard to beat for the price!

I have Kalloy parts on several different bikes. Their stuff is cheap, but durable if you don't mind the extra weight.

Pros: cheap
durable

Cons: not particularly attractive
heavier than most

So far its a good seat post. I got it because it was inexpensive and i didn't want to break the bank on my build. It also was one of the few seat post I could fin in the size I needed.

Pros: Inexpensive. many sizes.

This seatpost replaced an OLD 1980's Bridgestone road bike seatpost. Item fit well, and has been in service for some time now.

Pros: Appears to be a quality product.

For what it is, I think the Laprade is a great seatpost. So, what is it? It's an inexpensive seatpost that comes in a billion different sizes and features a secure clamp for your saddle. If you want it to be a Thomson, you'll be disappointed; if you want it to be a functional seatpost, you'll be pleased. One quibble: the clamp/head is pretty ugly, even compared to other Kalloy offerings (like the Uno).

Pros: inexpensive, secure saddle clamp, billions of different sizes

Cons: it's kind of ugly

Great basic post

Bought one of these some 20 years ago and it is still doing as it should. With that kind of history, on a recent vintage bike build I wanted something representative of that time. The design has changed slightly and the finish is shiner. Fits well on this late 80's bike. Made in Taiwan.

Pros: Basic seatpost at a very good price. Solid construction that will give peace of mind under you. Not like some thin walled weight weenine post that won't hold the saddle secure.

Cons: Not very light. If you want an angle between the ridges...too bad. It has more than enough but if one has to have fractions of a degree, this isn't a post for you.

Sleek

Pretty black finish and machining is really nice. I like the size options too. Not to many 400+ mm seatposts out there. The clamp seems a bit too tilted forward but maybe my seat is the real problem...

Good longer seat post

It works well for what I need it for. My wife and I share a bike to transport our kids and this allows us to adjust so we can both ride the bike. Not the lightest, but weight is not the issue here.

It's a heavy awkward looking seatpost, but it has the decided advantage that it comes in many seatpost diameters, so I can take my klunky old French project frame and put a seatpost onto it without paying hundreds of dollars for some sort of historical reenactment parts.

Pros: comes in many seatpost diameters

This is a wonderful cheap seatpost. Unless you have some reason to get a very expensive seatpost, this should do you well. If you are riding a Brooks saddle on a frame with steep angles, you might find that this post doesn't provide enough setback due to the short rails on the Brooks. For more modern saddles, this should be OK.

Bought this as i rebuilt an old bike. It does what it's supposed to do. Pretty good product and looks like it serves the same as a little bit pricier products.

Basic cheap saddle post. I've put many miles on these for cheap builds. The one bolt style is easy to adjust. The downside is there are only so many angle the saddle can be at. I've found a few saddles that I need to be right in between two notches.

Nice Seat post

This is a quality seat post, it comes in a variety of sizes. It has a nice single bolt clamp. The black anodizing is quite nice.

Pros: black, light weight.

excellent, cheap post in a variety of sizes

If you need a simple, one bolt seat post, this is the one to get. Multiple lengths, and plenty of widths mean it should work on your frame. Only a one bolt post, so takes some time to adjust, but it is perfectly functional

Pros: Cheap, great range of post sizes

Cons: one bolt design makes adjusting a little bit of work.

Basic SIngle Bolt Seatpost

It's your basic seatpost, comes in a lot of different sizes, and it works just fine. Didn't have any problems with paint coming off and jamming the seatpost in frame. Easy to adjust and has not failed me in any way. I'm giving it 4 stars but I wish I could give it 4.5 because I reserve 5 stars for stuff that really stands out.

Pros: Inexpensive, comes in a lot of sizes, works just fine. Also comes in 400mm lengths, which are kinda rare.

Cons: Same cons all single bolt seatposts have: Creaks if not lubricated.

Your basic inexpensive alloy seatpost

This is a no-frills alloy seatpost with a single-bolt saddle rail clamp. The clamp can be a little fussy to get set just right but once it's set and torqued down it's not going any place. Fit and finish are good. Long post allows you to cut it down to size, depending on your situation, and save a little weight.

Pros: Inexpensive, sturdy, well-made

It's ugly and it scratches.
But, it's dirt cheap. Comes in odd sizes. Holds your seat well and doesn't bend. Can't argue with that. Especially if nobody else makes that size post.
