SKS fenders are cost-effective and long-lasting. On two bikes, I have SKS fenders with 10000 and 4000 miles and still going strong. The plastic-coated metal design ("chromoplastic") seems to rattle less last longer than plain plastic designs.
My one complaint is that the front fender I got from Universal Cycles were slightly warped side-to-side (perhaps from the packaging for shipping). Over time, it's mostly straightened out.
Really really great fenders for the $. They are light and easy to setup. You get a real bargain and they are durable too. The quick release option is nice.
Pros: Easy setup, lots of choices. Gives you options to buy additional parts in case you need them.
Cons: Wish they were a little longer
