Park Tool 1000 grease Good value grease that looks near same consistency and probably almost as good as Phil Wood at a fraction of the cost. Great shop grease to have in bulk. Pros: Inexpensive, good consistency of grease, easy to apply Cons: none yet Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 23, 2013 Reviewed by: jon g., Oregon Was this review Helpful? I can only compare this grease to the classic green Phil Wood product. While the Phil Wood grease seams thicker and of a higher quality, you can't beat the value of this product. Each has a place, and I will continue to buy both for my projects. Pros: Price/Value.
Works great Cons: Smell. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 22, 2013 Reviewed by: Christian, Virginia Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
None of my LBS had a tub a grease or even the smaller tubes so I added one of these to my order and I should be good to go for a while. Can you use other types of grease available from the auto/marine parts store or Home Depot? Probably, but this one is made specifically for bikes. And made in the good U.S. of A. A great low cost grease that works well for all bike components. Purchase a small grease gun too, and a single tub should last you a long time. I use this lube when I don't want to waste my precious and costlier phil woods grease. this stuff is cheaper and works great for all those parts that don't need good grease, like BB cups, headsets, and whatever else that needs grease other then bushings and bearings. Pros: cheap, thick, comes in a finger friendly tube Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 03, 2011 Reviewed by: will m., Oregon Was this review Helpful? A high quality grease designed for bicycle components. I bought a tub of this grease about four years ago, and I still have plenty left. A tub lasts forever. Best value for your buck. A tub of high quality grease. Pick up a syringe so you can fill it with lube and use as necessary without contaminating the whole tub. Grease is grease... Like the title says "Grease is grease..."
It's better for your bike than wd 40.
