This is my favorite of the "standard" bike greases available. Works for bearings and assembly. Holds up well to water. Pros: Works well for everything, reasonable price. Cons: Not quite as good as Motorex 2000 grease - love that stuff! Reviewed on: April 17, 2013 Reviewed by: Brad M., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Does exactly what it's supposed to I bought this to lube/grease the cog on my bike when I changed it out and this worked just fine. I've also probably only used it a few times because it seems to last forever. Pros: Works well
Lasts Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 21, 2012 Reviewed by: Cody C., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Tried and True I've used Park Polylube 1000 for years both as a bike tech and now a hobbyist. Pros: Tube is easy to dispense from (especially bearing cups). Cons: Unit price is higher for the tube vs. the larger tub. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Austin E., Florida Was this review Helpful? Does the Job! as long as you use lube, I don't think there is much difference in either the Paul's or other hub grease Pros: easy to use tube Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 29, 2012 Reviewed by: Todd S., Vancouver, WA Was this review Helpful? worth it Park Tool makes the right tools for bikes, so there is no question about what should be used. This is a must for anyone who works on bikes. Use it on nearly every fastener or interface and you with have a quiet, properly running bike. This size tube should last a few years for the home mechanic. Pros: Its from Park Tool Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 20, 2012 Reviewed by: John B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
ESSENTIAL One of these tubes will last most home mechanics for years! Takes the guess work out of "is it compatible" with bikes? It's from Park Tools, it's for bikes, for sure! I use it on everything, bolts, BBs, headsets, seatpost, etc. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 18, 2012 Reviewed by: TDDT, California Was this review Helpful? If you work on your own bike you absolutely need to have have proper grease for assembly.
Park Polylube works well and is cost effective. I bought a tube a while ago and it's still half full.
Grease your bolts and pay attention to torque values. Don't be a mickey mouse home mechanic. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 30, 2012 Reviewed by: John, British Columbia Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
This is my go-to all purpose grease for threaded connections, headset install, seatpost, etc. I use a different grease for my bottom bracket bearings and suspension bushings simply to match what the manuf recommends. The price is right and 4 oz covers a lot of jobs (a little bit goes a long way).
It does stain clothing so be aware of that - but i'm sure all grease does anyway. Pros: Economical.
Easy to squeeze tube. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 22, 2011 Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Works well as a bicycle grease.
Pros: works fine Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 20, 2011 Reviewed by: joon k., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good for general purposes, especially threads, seatposts, and headset bearings — there are better, lighter greases out there for bearings especially.
Wear gloves when using: whatever is in here stains skin, latex, and fabric green. Keep the tube away from light. Pros: easy to clean, resists contamination, inexpensive Cons: stains, relatively high viscosity Reviewed on: May 01, 2011 Reviewed by: DL, Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? seems to be a very good grease, nice and smooth, and thick good for keeping those loose ball bearings in place. i have used it on about every part on my mountain bikes Pros: seems to hold up good, stays in place, works really good on loose ball bearings Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 03, 2011 Reviewed by: Ricky P., Oklahoma Was this review Helpful? Park 'Polylube 1000' grease I've used plenty of this PPL-1 grease. It’s basically just a very convenient product to use. There are definitely better greases available but often they are less practical, economical, or convenient to use. The Park is a general purpose grease and is suitable for most bike use, although I won’t recommend it for good hubs. The 4oz squeeze tubes hold a fair bit, and are very easy to use. They avoid contaminating the grease better than using open pots (damn annoying when you only need a small amount, or if you're outside at ground level). The twist cap is better than usual, goes straight on, and doesn't break (unlike Pedros & Phil Wood). The nozzle is big enough to allow the grease to come out freely, and long enough to allow quick grease injections into hubs etc. The grease is also a definite green colour, which can sometimes help you identify your new grease on the bike, seriously. I haven't had any issues with my skin, and I regularly squeeze small quantities out onto my finger. Regarding hubs, I’ve found the Polylube doesn’t adequately protect them from wear and corrosion. It’s simply not as waterproof or heatproof as it’s claimed to be (Just use Phil Wood in any decent hubs or if you need a more waterproof grease). That said, the Park is just do damn convenient I always come back to it for most things. Horses for courses :-)
Pros: Very convenient, good on most things. Economical Cons: Easily displaced by water. Runs away in the heat. Causes hub problems. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 30, 2011 Reviewed by: John D., Sydney, AU Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Another great Park product Used on all my bearing parts. I actually tested this product on an old headset bearing. I lubed the bearing, and soaked it in water for 24hrs, and then left it in the sun to dry out. The poly lube actually protected the bearings....impressed Pros: Price, and it protects well Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2010 Reviewed by: Kyle W., Oregon Was this review Helpful?
