You need one. I use this on my bicycles and motorcycle. After a sandy or muddy mountain bike ride, this will make chain cleaning so much faster and easier. The brush heads are also replaceable... so I've heard. I've been using mine for a year and a half and it doesn't need replacing yet.

Pros: Affordable, durable, easy to clean chain and cassettes.

Cons: None

Such a superb & useful brush, the bristles are very stiff & have a long life span, plus they are replaceable. Few things work better for cleaning your drivetrain!

Pros: Price
Durability
Reuseability

Bristles are stiff

This tool was well reviewed all over but I find that I don't use it so much and rely more on the Park CM-5 cyclone.

The 3 bristle end can be used to de-cake the derailleur wheels but the other end which is used to clean the cassette suffers from bristles that are too stiff. If the bristles were softer they would pick up more grime.

By comparison, the Zefal Multi-brush has bristles that are too soft so I can't seem to find the ideal tool.

Pros: Unique tool
Easy to clean

Cons: Bristles are too stiff

i wonder how many people actually take the time to regularly clean the drivetrain on their bike. I used to do it by using old shop rags and degreaser. But this brush makes it a lot easier. Especially for cleaning the chain. The three brush end fits right over the chain and gets all the dirt and grime off very well. A good investment and an inexpensive way to improve the performance of your bike.

This is a great brush for cleaning the chain when you're hosing down the bike. I use Simple Green in a spray bottle on the chain, cassette and chainrings and then hit it with this brush, using both ends. It works very well.

The only downside is the long bristles tends to "flick" muck when run against a backspinning cassette. Not really a big deal.

Pros: 3-sided end is perfect for chains and the other end works well on the cassette and chain rings.

FL Grunge Brush

This is a funny looking thing, but quite effective for what it is. It can be dunked in degreaser if you wish, but just don't expect it to be near as effective as removing a chain and dunking it. A chain scrubber comes in halfway between the two. The Grunge Brush is easy for fast or rough cleaning, also when really clean just doesn't matter so much. If your chains get dirty and you don't want to keep cleaning them, maybe you should keep applying a wax based lube instead. The long end bristles can also roughly clean out cassette cogs if needed. Odd but nifty.

Pros: Economical, convenient.

Cons: Only for rough cleaning.

I use this on my chain after every ride and the chain comes out very clean. I don't need to run my chain through a chain cleaner and use a degreaser every time I ride, so I use the grunge brush for a quick cleaning.

Pros: Well made, works as advertised, a great supplement to a traditional chain cleaner.

Cons: None

A good cheap alternative to a real chain cleaner, but if you really want a shiny chain, go with the real deal. This is good to throw in your car and do a quick and dirty job for the 'cross bike, but when you get home, use a chain cleaner from Pedro or Park.

Pros: okay cleaning

Cons: not very at getting everything really clean
