Alloy Rims Grommet/Shim

Great way to get rid of schrader tubes.
I have presta, my wife has schrader, we have the same tire size...she now has presta...and I only carry one spare!

It fits well in every rim that I've ever converted to presta.

Good to have options

Most of my bike have presta tubes and rims but occasionally I have a schrader set up role though. Schraders are nicer from running sealant too.

It's good to have these adapter around in case I don't have the tube I need in schrader.

Adapt your Shrader rim to Presta tubes

Nice to have around if you run a set of Shrader rims. This little adapter will let you run a presta tube if you happen to need to borrow one on the trail, or if you're like me all your other bikes have presta valve holes, so why not just run Presta in the Shrader rims also!?

When upgrading a schrader valve to presta, you simply cannot go wrong with these shims. With very little effort, these lil' guys go in and get the job done. You may want to consider "tacking" them in place with a thin bead of hot glue as a gasket to keep them in place during installation and flat fixes.

Pros: Cheap, light, simple to install

Cons: Not always a completely snug fit into schraeder holes.

They work very well. Depending on your rim they may have to be ground down a bit to fit properly.

I'm not sure these are necessary (lots of folks use presta tubes in schraeder rims without problems), but I'm happy to use them to make sure there's no chance of damage to my tubes. They fit my Mavic EX721 rims fine.

Pros: Cheap insurance.

Cons: Maybe not essential. Be careful you don't lose them when you change tubes.

Great option for versatility. Running presta tubes in a schrader drilled rim lets you swap out easily without worrying about type of tube.

Just the ticket for me

I've got 1 bike with Schrader drilled rims, and since I really prefer Presta valves this let me run my preferred tubes with no problems. If you need this for your bike, I have a suggestion. They don't cost very much, and by getting a couple of extra you can keep one in your tool box, and one in the patch kit on the bike. That way you don't have to freak if you drop the insert while changing the tire and it bounces off into the underbrush. Also makes it more likely you could help a fellow rider if he needs a tube.

I've tried these grommets, as well as flexible rubber grommets. These are the best; the only problem I've had with them is that they make it easy enough to use Schraeder rims that I keep running out of them when I fix up another klunky old bicycle and put better tube into it.

I like things standard on all my bikes and these were just the ticket for using presta valved tubes on my older mountain bike.

Note that all though the description says "each" they do come in pairs.

Bought these to fit Presta tubes to all the bikes in the family that had Schrader tube wheels. Works perfect. This makes it a lot easier for me since my recumbent uses 20" tubes. Now my kids 20" tire bike can use the same tubes. Makes stocking spares simple.

Alloy Rim Grommet and Reducer

Does what it is supposed to. Reduces the hole in the rim from the Schraeder to the Presta style valve stem.

Pros: Better than the plastic ones...
