Works great. Cheap! One of the original chain keeper made, these still do the job well, as long as you have room under the front derailleur. Works best with traditional top swing derailleurs. Pros: Works! Cheap! Cons: May be a tight fit under some derailleurs. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 13, 2013 Reviewed by: Noel B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Keeps the chain where it belongs I have used the 3rd Eye Chain Watcher many times on my bike builds. Very easy to install and adjust. Keeps the chain from falling off when shifting to the small ring or with single front ring setups. Pros: Inexpensive and easy to install. Works well. Cons: On some aluminum frames it might not go low enough to be effective. Excellent product! Easy installation, and keeps the chain from jumping off a 1x7 MTB setup under most (but not all) instances of bashing around. For chain retention during normal street use, it will be more than adequate. It's very light weight. Pros: Great value, easy installation, light! Cons: Not foolproof protection against chain droppage (not sure that exists, though) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 30, 2012 Reviewed by: Peter C., Illinois Was this review Helpful? Simple I was looking for something cheap but did not sacrifice quality. I found it here. It's not fancy, just a no nonsense part that does it's part well. Haven't had a dropped chain while using it. Pros: Does the job well Cons: A little difficult to adjust at first, but it's a set it and forget it type of thing. Does what it needs to: Keeps the chain from falling off the chainring. I use this on a 1x8 setup of mine. I used to drop chains to the inside, but now with this, I haven't dropped it once. Good, not great. Tube clamp has sharp edges so must be fully enclosed in plastic sheath, however access to the screw is difficult from access hole. Must be very tight to avoid slippage and clain dropping below tooth, otherwise works fine. 3rd Eye Chain Watcher A simple solution for warding off dropped chains when running a single ring in the front. I've been using one of these for the past 3 years on my cross bike with no complaints. Pros: Simple, lightweight. Cons: Its not totally infallible - but close. Works great, no dropping the chain even on rough roads. Doesn't interfere with the derailleur. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 02, 2010 Reviewed by: Daniel , Rhode Island Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
