excellent tool

This little chain guide is great. When I have my bike in the stand with the wheel off, I use this every time.

I also use it if I'm storing a bike with no wheels. Keeps things clean

helps keep chain under tension and keeps the grease off my stays

Works well in keeping the chain in place when the rear wheel is removed - traveling in a hard or soft case. The shape makes tensioning the chain easy.

Useful

Not an essential part for your tool box but handy non the less. Keeps the dirty chain away from your chain stay when you take off your rear wheel.

I use this on my travel Xootr fixed gear bike, which fits into a suitcase for the airlines. Without it the chain gets tangled and grease can get on the frame.
Also good for holding any chain when removing the rear wheel for any reason.

Pros: Works well as intended

Cons: Not absolutely necessary

Good to have but not a necessary tool, makes the job easy.

Pedros Chain Keeper

Handy Item, I should have bought one years ago. Can even be used with a chain scrubber after you've (already) cleaned your cassette :-) Only a few bucks, don't hesitate.
