Does the trick most of the time with easy install. However, after a season of cross on it, the fang wore down and I had to re-adjust. Also, tends to rotate if not really tight, and lets a gap form and the chain to drop.

Pros: Keeps the chain on the bike. Easy Install

Cons: Can rotate away from chain if not really tight, plastic wears down from doing its job

No more droped chain. Some drivetrains just like to drop their chain. When your racing that sucks!!!
This chain catcher is cheep and easy to install. Just make sure you get the right size.

Simple, light and it works. I haven't lost my chain since I put it on. It's no substitute for a well tuned drivetrain, but if you occasionaly drop your chain on bumpy roads or cross courses it could be just what you need.

Tricky to Install

Might seem like a no-brainer, but getting this placed just right isn't as easy as you'd expect. Improper placement results in the chain getting hung up on the Dog Fang. When I bought this thing, the thought of spending a lot more on a fancier model seemed absurd, but the design on the more expensive types is just better, IMO.

Pros: Cheap. Easy to install on tube.

Cons: Hard to get correct placement to prevent hang-ups.

Elegant and high quality chain drop protector

This model has much better quality and aesthetics than competing generically sized items.

Pros: High quality perfect fit and function

Cons: None, unless it isn't available in your frame seat tube size.

The key to making this device work is to be picky about where you place it. Read the instructions carefully. A mm or two will make a difference.

A nice piece here. Simplicity at its best.

Nothing to set-up or adjust. Move it into position, tighten and done.

Much better that other more complicated and expensive options
