No sure if it was me of these pads but they seemed to wear pretty fast.

Decent pads for the price and they broke in after one ride.

If you're riding parks remember to check for wear often as parks eat brake pads for breakfast. Learned it the hard way.

Long lasting pads

Need 'em for the BB7s. Seem to last a while, good stopping performance with Ashima rotors.

Pros: Long lasting

Cons: Squeak when new

Wore out my last set - an easy to install replacement. Just remember to bed them in otherwise they will not work well

Avid Disc brake pads

Standard pads used for Elixir and Juicy pads

Pros: Cheap, accessible, fairly long wearing

Cons: Noisy, harder to install than Shimano and almost impossible to not significantly rub rotor when new despite fully retracting the pistons due to minimal spacing allowed for rotor.

replacement pads, I usually get the semi metallic, because I'm a big rider but they are a little noisy.

I've run every type of avid brake; juicy, elixir, code. I've never had a major problem with them as long as you keep the pads pretty fresh. Usually get the organics which are supposed to be quieter.

Pros: Easy to replace. Great stopping power.

Cons: Sometimes you get the squeal.

Great pads! Way better than the organic pads! Although can be noisy.

Good pads, long lasting, decent stopping

These have been on my singlespeed all-weather/conditions bike for 3 years. I"ve gone through maybe half a dozen pads, but they are great in my opinion - durable, long wearing, and good stopping. I've had zero problems with avid brakes or pads, ever.

Pros: Good stopping, easy to maintain, rather durable

Good braking, no heat induced fading but can get noisy.

A great all-around brake pad. I notice to fading on extremely long descents but they do get a bit loud (squeals like a pig) on those long, hot downhills. I find if I clean my rotors often the noise is kept at bay. Good stopping power though and the wear is decent.

Pros: Good stopping, no fading

Cons: can become noisy if rotors aren't cleaned regularly.

Juicy 3 back to life

I decided to change my brake pads, got these, and after watching a couple of videos, went for it.
Quite a workout, an exercise in patience too, but got it.
Had to devise a method to push the pads in after retracting the cylinders. They wouldn't go in by hand, although i feel this is in part, due to my Juicy 3 design.
Break in was smooth and the Organics work very well with these calipers. Don't use the metallic ones though, reduced braking action on the Juicy 3's.

Pros: Break in process smooth, great braking action, no howling.

Cons: Hard to push into Juicy 3 calipers. Metallic pads don't have enough braking power with these brakes, go organic.

Avid Pads for BB7

These pads are used on my commuter and see all conditions. Consistent braking with minimal noise.

Pros: Quiet and long life span.

Cons: None to mention.

Avid makes some really solid brakes, especially their BB7. Their pads seem to be just as good, though EBC might make a better pad.

Avid Brakes Shriek

I don't know what it is, but every Avid brake I have ever used shrieks and squeals.

These pads aren't as good as the Formula pads I use in my other brakes, but they do deliver reasonable power and modulation for their price.

Pros: Reasonable power and modulation for the price

I like the metallic ones

These pads last for years, which I find amazing. I've stuck with the metallic ones because they've always worked well for me and last a long time, so I can't comment on the organic pads. It's my understanding that they don't last as long though.

I always keep a spare set in my camelbak just in case,

Pros: long lasting, easy to change out.

Cons: those little springs are annoying
