Hammer Gel HEED Mix

I've been using Hammer HEED for the past year for relatively short day rides (2-3 hours). I've tried all the flavors and my favorite flaver is the mandarin orange. All of the flavors are subtle and not too sugary or strong. It doesn't cause upset stomach for me while working out. Once you use in your water bottle you will never get it clean again - stains and smell don't come out no matter how much you try to clean it. Not a bad thing but just have a dedicated bottle for HEED if that bothers you.

I use HEED for events lasting 2h or less. The flavors are not overpowering, which is great. Products with strong flavors really annoy me when I'm working at threshold. Heed is not that way.

Pros: Subtle taste that doesn't overpower you.

Can't adjust to taste...

Tried this product out for endurance races and training for race seasons. Will cut to the chase, I can't get used to the taste of this product, and have moved to using another product that goes down easier. For short training sessions this is a good product. For races when maximum exertion is used for long periods of time, this product seems to make my stomach upset and does me more harm than good.

Pros: Natural mix.

Cons: Cannot adjust to the taste of Heed.

Very good for hydration. The maltodextrin taste is weird in the mouth. Doesn't upset a weak stomach. Good variety of flavors, not overpowering.

Pros: Good flavors, good energy, good thirst quencher.

Cons: Funny mouth feeling from the texture. Taste thicker than other drinks.

I was on a quest to find an electrolyte drink that didn't give me the burps, or a stomach ache. It took a while to find something that worked and didn't upset my digestive system, but finally found it! The taste isn't bad either. Orange is the taste for me.

Pros: Works, and I can stomach it!

The lemon-lime tastes good. Seems to do a good job of re hydrating on those long hot sweaty rides. It can be mixed like a drink or thick like a gel shot type of electrolyte.

Pros: Tastes good (lemon-lime) and low sugar content.

Cons: Spendy
