Smooth Shifter This is the first Wippermann chain that I have ever used. The Ultegra 6700 runs smooth, however; I hammer a lot of steep, long hills, and the Ultegra, and Dura-Ace 7801 would only last about 1,200 miles before being stretched out past the service limits. This chain runs and shifts very smoothly. Pros: Smooth, and made of stainless steel, which is extra nice for off season riding. Cons: Expensive. Favorite chain Wipperman chains are my favorite chains. I use them every time unless I get a screaming deal on something else that I can't pass up. They last a long time, the shifting is excellent, they're quiet, lightweight, and the quick link is easy to use. Highly recommend this, and all, Wipperman chains. Pros: Works great with any 10 speed drive train I've used it on (especially Campy). Quiet, great chain. Lightweight and incredibly durable. Cons: I cannot think of any. Wippermann Chain, for me, are the best chains in the bike industry. May be because chains is what they do, bicycle chains are only a small fraction of their business. They make chains for all sort of industrial applications. That is probably one of the reasons they make impeccable chains for bikes.
This particular chain is no exception. Want more life out of your chain go stainless. For me I see no difference between the mid & high end nickel chains, so I either go for the low-mid grade nickel chains or bump up to stainless. This chain has lasted so long, partly due to my maintenance, but mostly due to the quality of materials & construction.
Wippermann's are the best if you take my word Pros: Precision shifting
Durable
Great Cost/Benefit
