Profile Design Boxxer Bar Ends

Great bar ends

Threw these onto my MTB with no problems whatsoever. They come with plugs for your bars if you need them, I didn't though. They clamp on nice and strong, and so far I haven't had them slip on me when I've needed them.

obsolete technology?

These are light and they clamp securely. The hand positions are comfortable. They're tough. I used these and the straighter version for years. However, they are gathering dust, now that I have discovered the new generation of grips with integrated composite bar ends. These aluminum bar ends are cold and hard by comparison. If your grips have an outboard clamp, the last inch or so of bar becomes a lumpy, uncomfortable mass of clamps.

OTOH, these bar ends with some glue-on grips will make a really light setup.

A cheap addition for multiple hand positions.

I decided to run these for a tour on my MTB and I was very happy with them. For 8 hours on the bike it was nice to be able to move around on the bars. They were easy to install, stayed tight, and were comfortable.
