Quality Rings I have used these chainrings for several years and have had a very good experience with them.
They last for many miles if you keep a good eye on your chain and replace your chain when it is necessary. I usually change out the rings every 6,000 to 7,000 miles and have run these rings with an 11-28 Ultegra cassette and a Wippermann 10S1 chain. Pros: Affordable, ramped and pinned for excellent shift quality, nice machining. 53T is just too tall for me. I really need a compact double, but hated to ditch my (standard) Ultegra crankset. So, I ordered a 50T outer/38T inner ring and I had a "semi-compact" double. It works much better for me in the rolling VA hills. Pros: Quality rings
Lots of sizes Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 20, 2013 Reviewed by: Joshua E., Virginia Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Used as an outer ring for my cyclocross rig. Works and looks great! Pros: I beat on these all cyclocross season with no issues. Look great! Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 24, 2012 Reviewed by: phil g., New York Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I needed a new chainring for my 1x10 cross setup, and this fit the bill; cheap and lots of options. It does seem to be a bit noisier w/ a Dura Ace chain than the older Force ring was towards the small-end of the cassette, but that might just be an issue of the Force ring being more worn (or in my mind). Pros: Price

Great replacement I tend to end up with FSA stuff on my rides. So why not replace it with FSA chainrings when they start to "shark fin". They shift well (be sure to replace the chain and cassette when you do this so everything wears together). Ramping/pinning is fine. It's cheaper and good quality. Looking forward to many more miles with this guy. Pros: Everything. Cons: Weight? Not sure...for the price it's not an issue. Many sizes, good price I got these rings to change up the gearing on my CX bike. I liked that they are/were many size options. I've used 42t, 44t, and 48t. A 46t would be nice though.
They are clearly marked as to the matching inner ring which is very helpful for those of use playing around with gearing and/or cobbling a bike together.
Shifting performance has been great.
Can re-use the packaging to store unused rings. Pros: Price
Shifts well
Matched inner and outer ring sizing Cons: No 46t Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 05, 2012 Reviewed by: Bryan S., Portland Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
good value this is an excellent ring for the price. I got this for a 1x8 setup, and despite pins and ramps, this was still the best value.
I expect that it will wear as well as any other alloy ring, but for the price, I can replace with every few chains. Pros: inexpensive
color scheme is sharp Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 02, 2012 Reviewed by: Steven S., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Easy to bolt onto your existing 130bcd cranks. Quality control is great at FSA. Matches right up, easy plug and play.
The chain ring comes packaged well too, so no need to fear about the teeth getting damaged during shipping. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 14, 2011 Reviewed by: Ernest C. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great deal I like the black rings with the silver teeth. It looks great with a black crank. Pros: Great looking. Seems to be just as good as any other alloy ring. Cons: None yet. The FSA was a simple swap from the original. Installation was simple, took less than 30 minutes. I have a shimano 105 triple with a 52t large ring. The switch to a 50t did exactly as I had hoped it would. I can now stay in the big ring with ease keeping the chain more in the middle of the rear cassette. I ride with speeds between 17 and 26 mph on a hilly route. My first ride with the 50t gave me a season best 20.1 mph avg for 13.5 miles, with LESS EFFORT. I picked up at least .5 mph avg. Definitely well worth the money. Pros: Installation was easy. It was a perfect replacement for the shimano 105 triple. Replacement rings for my Cervelo road bike. Original crank/rings were also FSA. No issues or problems; good life span. have T30 bolts which is an odd size compared to other bike parts I am used to. I got this one because it was affordable and had a 44 T option. It definitely fit the bill, shifting is smooth every time to and from it, even with my circa 1980 105 derailleur. This is a solid chainring that won't break the bank, like so many others. Compact gearing on a full sized crank Used this chainring in conjunction with a generic 38t inner ring on a 20 year old Shimano 6400 series crank. Close to compact gearing without buying an entirely new crank and bottom bracket to go with it. Pros: Much better shifting than my old ring with no shift pins or ramps.
Didn't require a new front dérailleur when I converted from 6 speed to 10 speed.
10 speed compatible
Less expensive than other 50t 130mm rings. Cons: Heavier than my old aluminum 53t ring (- 0.5 star)
Sometimes takes up to a full rotation for the pins/ramps to pick up the chain, but I am friction shifting. (- 0.5 star) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 06, 2010 Reviewed by: Brad F., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Low cost and small sizes These rings are very durable and a bonus is the cost is lower than most others. My first reason for choosing it was because it came in a 38T with a 130 BCD.
