better than expected!
I heard that Racktime has something to do with Tubus, which is highly acclaimed. I decided to give it a go, since I like the design better than the Tubus offerrings.
I was prepared for plastic in the beefy looking areas in the photo. To my surprise, those parts seem to be some chunky machined aluminum. The entire rack is superb, and I'm surprised at the quality at this price point. Nothing else under a hundred bucks even comes close.
The lower pannier rails allows use of both a top trunk and panniers at the same time. The rails are the larger 10mm size, which still works perfectly with Ortlieb panniers. The struts were perfectly sized to fit level on my 18-inch Surly Ogre frame.
I especially liked the dual mountain holes, spaced 50mm apart for the rear tail light, which, by design, is protected by the protruding side loops of aluminum frame.
I did have to adjust my Ortlieb panniers to the most rearward position for them to not hit my heels. Partially, because the lower rails bring my bags down low, which is nice for handling, and partially because my frame doesn't have the longest chainstays - like a touring frame does.
Pros: Super beefy and robust construction. Really high quality fit and finish through and through. I like it better than the titanium Tubus I once knew.
Cons: it's not chromoly or titanium, but for this price, it's better than aluminum. (it is aluminum)

Yes No Report as InappropriateThis is an amazing rack. It's just wide enough that you can still use a trunk bag on it, yet it's still fairly low profile, and the lower mounting bar is very handy. The rack is extremely solid and is one of the highest quality racks I have ever used. I recommend it without hesitation, especially given its value.
