Shimano Dura Ace PTFE Derailleur Cable Set

All things being equal (shifter is OK, derailleur hanger is straight, derailleur is not worn out), this cable and housing set helped me rehabilitate/improve rear shifting on a problem bike.

Pros: -All components for shift cable and housing replacement are included
-Very high quality in all ways (small parts included)

Cons: -(As with all Dura Ace products) Expense
-It very possible that some large percentage of the improvement seen by using this set could also be seen by using bulk generic cable/housing/bits off the shelf at a fraction of the price.

Works well like all Shimano Stuff

Like most of Shimanos stuff, works well and is priced fair.

Dura Ace just works better

If you have Dura Ace components then you will appreciate their cables and housing. You need to use both the cable and housing together to take advantage of the smoother operation. These aren't cheap but they do work a little better then other brands.

Pros: They work a little better then other cables like Jagwire.

Cons: You pay for it.

Dura-Ace Cables

Shimano parts just work. Great performance, good looks, reasonable price.

Pros: Great shifting performance, Dura-Ace bling.

Cons: Other options are cheaper and probably have just as good performance.

Like Shimano's brake cables, the DA derailleur cable set is the gold standard for road bikes. You can get some more exotic alternatives, but DA cables just work. They're not cheap, but you can reuse the housing for quite some time and in the future just replace the inners.

This set includes everything you need: housing, inner cables, end caps, and ferrules.

Good quality cables, but better options are out there for a premium price. These do the job, aren't flashy, but work well. Cable housing is unfortunately not long enough to run to rear der. for a cx bike, but otherwise no complaints.

Dura Ace cables

Shimano, what more needs to be said. all of shimano gear is excellent. I have tried other cables and non compare to the quality of these
cables. Everything is provided to upgrade your entire drive train. simply the best.

Dura-Ace cables...

I've been buying this cable set to build my bikes and my friends bikes for a few years now. You simply can not complain about these things. They do what they are supposed to, have great lever feel and are inexpensive compared to the boutique cables that are out there now.

Pros: Look great, shift fantastic, price can't be beat for this quality of cable.

Cons: None! You wont be disappointed.

Is what it is

Solid cables, but neither the cheapest out there nor the best. I discovered the Jagwire Racer series a few years back and have not gone back to these.

Pros: Works just fine. The grey color is nice, assuming you want grey cables.

Cons: No choice of colors. Silencer donuts sold separately. Cable end caps are plastic and not of great quality.

The silver color looks classic, better than black for some bikes. Seems petty but most stuff is black these days. It's high quality housing and cables though as well.
