Be careful installing these as they are plastic and the head ail strip out. Be sure you put some grease on the threads first and you should be able to get them in.

Cons: Strip out easily.

Works as advertised.

These clean up the look of a frame or fork with it's canti bosses removed. They work as advertised, however, they are soft and thus easy to round out the hex key hole. Use care and grease when installing!

Pros: Does the job.

Cons: Material a little soft.

PS Brake Boss Plugs

A simple way to clean up a frame with open, unused canti studs following disc brake conversion. If you don't try to screw them in all the way, maybe they won't strip out. Maybe they will. This particular plastic may be too soft for this application.

Pros: A simple way to clean up a frame with open, unused canti studs following disc brake conversion.

Cons: Easily crossthreaded/stripped
As stated in the product description now: "Will not work with all Marzocchi forks."

Plastic is soft

These do the trick, but once they are in - they are in. Just a bit easy to strip should you need to remove them. If installing and forgetting - these are perfect. Weigh basically nothing.

Pros: Light, clean look.

Cons: Soft plastic that is easy to strip.

Ps Boss brake plugs

These plugs give a finished look to a fork or swingarm that has had the linear brakes removed, and replaced by disc brakes. Instead of having empty holes that will rust or clog up with dirt, use these and the threads will be kept clean in case you want to reinstall the original brakes. Make sure to clean the threads with a bolt or rethread tap, otherwise they can be tight to install and the wrench will turn inside the socket and start to strip out?

Pros: Easy to install
Provides a clean finished look

Cons: The alloy version would be a better choice, because of the potential of the socket to strip out if removal is nessecary.

I don't know how many of these I've stripped out, but am really starting to take my time putting them in and it helps. My trick: use a nice, new allen wrench and turn them SLOWLY. It feels stupid to be that anal, but that's the only way I've found that works, so far.

Pros: They do their job well

Cons: Easy to strip or get cross-threaded while installing.

With the idea of saving a few grams, I bought these plugs to replace the v-brake bosses of my frame.
I took all the cautions I could think: measured the threads to ensure it was the correct size, cleaned the frame threads and used caution when screwing them. After a few threads in, the head (where it does contact with the wrench) broke and no longer was hexagonal, now was rounded so I was unable to keep inserting it and also unable to remove it. After a bit of patience I was able to remove it.
Tried again with the other one, now using a bit of grease and I was able to get more threads in, but the result was the same. This time it took me hours to remove it.
I lost my money buying this product, but at least I saved my frame!

Pros: Light

Cons: Cheap quality (plastic or rubber brakes easily on the head where it does contact with the wrench). I wish there would be an aluminum alternative, it would weight about the same but the quality would be higher.

Work well, somewhat soft...

These work well when screwed in perfectly. If you get off a bit or start slightly off, the plug can get mangled pretty good. My front fork needs special ones that are not like this type, but these work well for the rear bosses on my older frame. Wish there were better options for plugging old bosses rather than the plastic option here.

Pros: Do the job.

Cons: Bit soft and easy to magle.

Pugs will strip if you are not careful. Suggest chasing loc-tite out of threads before installing plugs

Bummer

Tried to install these on my Big Dummy after taking off the canti studs. I stripped both plugs about half way on. They're cheaply made and really soft. I'd much rather have something decent made of metal. Unless your screwing them into something that has perfect threads they'll probably strip out.

Pros: They're light

Cons: Super soft, they strip, they look like cheap plastic & perform as well. They're also really expensive for what they are. I wouldn't recommend them and won't buy them again.

Covers up the unused canti mounts and keeps the frame/fork looking clean.

Pros: Inexpensive, light weight.

Cons: Plastic allen head can slip if over torqued. Alloy would have been better.

PS Brake Boss Plugs

Used these to plug the 'fill holes' in my canti/disc brake fork when using disc brakes. Fit well and kept the water out.

Pros: Light weight, worked fine.

Cons: You can strip the head out since they are just plastic but that also is what makes them light weight.

One of the better ways to plug brake boss holes. These last for years. The allen wrench hole tends to strip easily.
