Swings for the fence, but strikes out.
I love this crank in theory, but sadly not in practice.
The install ABSOLUTELY requires your bottom bracket tube not be over sized (common because of paint and/or many frame mfgs not facing bottom bracket tube at factory).
Bottom bracket bearings are angular contact and therefore must be pre-loaded correctly or they will be damaged.
Even with perfect install, if the non-drive side arm tightening bolt works loose, by the time you feel an abnormality, it may be too late to salvage the polygon interface (and therefore the whole crank).
Pros: very light weight
stiff
looks cool
comes in 180mm size
innovative
Cons: finicky installation
no other bottom bracket options
if the polygon interface works loose (or is loose because of improper installation), the motion will rapidly destroy the crank
finish easily damaged.

For an XC crankset, these are very stiff. They are very happy on my AM rig.
Pros: 30mm spindle makes for a stiff crankset. 73E BB shell compatible. If you've got a 73mm BB shell and want to run a guide without adding a tank DH crank, these are the bomb!
Cons: You have to purchase BB seperate from the cranks.
